Sailing on Sea Scamp
Sea Scamp is superbly balanced under sail and can be managed by those new to sailing, while also providing exciting challenges to more experienced sailors. There is a varied programme with short cruises, visiting hospitable marinas or anchoring in secluded bays, and opportunities on longer trips to try navigational skills and night sailing.
We have a full sailing season from April to November:
- In the Spring and Autumn there are weekend or midweek cruises from our home base at Shamrock Quay on the River Itchen inSouthampton. These offer opportunities to sail in the busy, exciting waters of the Solent, or to go further east or west along the South Coasts.
- In the Summer Sea Scamp sails further afield, with one- or two-week cruises taking her up as far as the west coast of Scotland or down to South Brittany. She has also been to the east and southern coasts of Ireland and explored the many harbours along the British south west coast, with trips to the Scilly Isles and Channel Islands.
- She regularly joins in the French 6th June anniversary celebrations of the D-day landings at Ouistreham, where we have strong links with the French owners of Le Grand Bunker Museum.
- As a member of the British Classic Yacht Club Sea Scamp has some excellent racing with beautiful classic yachts.
